The Department of Business Administration has conducted comprehensive evaluation meetings with external stakeholders in order to enhance educational quality, strengthen alignment with industry expectations, and contribute to accreditation processes. Within this scope, visits were made to the Muş Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen and the Muş Chamber of Certified Public Accountants (SMMMO).

During these meetings, the undergraduate curriculum, Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), and program learning outcomes were discussed collaboratively with sector representatives.

In the meeting held with the Muş Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen, the focus was on enabling graduates to play a more active role in local and regional trade. The chamber representatives emphasized the importance of developing students’ entrepreneurial mindset, as well as equipping them with practical knowledge in areas such as the institutionalization of family businesses, public incentives (e.g., KOSGEB, TKDK), and local market analysis. In this context, it was recommended that customer relationship management and digital marketing topics related to the retail sector be given greater emphasis in the curriculum. In addition, it was stated that applied training in the field of basic accounting (pre-accounting) should be provided to facilitate students’ faster adaptation to working life.

In the meeting held with the President of the Muş Chamber of Certified Public Accountants (SMMMO), Kutbettin Sönmezer, the digital transformation process in the accounting sector was addressed. It was emphasized that graduates need hands-on experience with digital accounting applications such as e-invoice (e-fatura) and e-ledger (e-defter), as well as widely used accounting software packages including Logo, Zirve, and Mikro in order to remain competitive in the labor market. Furthermore, it was highlighted that taxation courses should be delivered through real company scenarios and current declaration processes, and that professional ethics and independent auditing topics are of critical importance. In addition, it was stated that applied training in the field of basic accounting (pre-accounting) should be provided to facilitate students’ faster adaptation to working life.

In order to strengthen industry–university cooperation, it was decided to organize a seminar on the accounting profession, and it is planned that the President of the Muş SMMMO will deliver a seminar to students at the university in the coming week.

Department officials stated that this interaction with external stakeholders plays an important role in enhancing students’ practical skills and improving the employability of graduates.
